Too much TV

I don't watch much TV, but when I do, its Netflix.  Kid's shows, actually, are 95% of what I view.  The princess has a definite opinion and I usually don't protest.  At least she isn't watching commercials or randomly flipping channels, right?  Besides, TV time is generally a treat.  Mommy needs to shower before church, so the tube gets set to a show at least 30 minutes in length.  Seriously, TV is my free baby-sitter.  If only there were cartoons three hours in length, then I might actually get a night out.  Here are the shows in our instant queue the Princess recommends:
  • Wallace and Gromit.  A British series, "claymation".  Shorts of a Wallace and his dog, Gromit.  The visit the moon, eat cheese, invent things, and of course its mild British humor.   Simply known as Wallace to the Princess.  Her favorite episode is the "bobot"
  • Sean the Sheep.  By creators of Wallace and Gromit.  No dialogue, just animal noises and whistle blowing by the sheep dog.  The princess tries to act out the stories and dance along with the music.
  • Spongebob Squarepants.  Do I need really need to say more?  This is my least favorite one, but the Princess finds it hilarious.
  • WonderPets.  An operetta style show.  Three pet animals rescue other "baby" animals and learn about teamwork.  THE WHOLE THING is sung.  Its the SAME song each episode, just a different baby animal, different location, etc.  The Princess likes to sing along, too.
  • Thomas the Tank Engine.  Stop-motion stories of Thomas and his friends learning to "be really useful engines".  The Princess knows the names of all the engines, and the theme song.  She even has three Thomas engines.
Do you have a favorite show from your childhood?  Netflix has episodes of Strawberry Shortcake and Rainbow Bright, but now they are CG and not nearly as good.  Incredibly annoying, actually.

    Wish List

Two babies in bed, plus one big kid, equals mommy alone time.  This afternoon, I am choosing to spend it working on my moving wish list.  No dishes, vacuuming, or bathroom cleaning for me. (That's what honey-do lists are for, right?)
Anyway, we have a housing wish list.  Mostly me.  I know you are dying to know what it is, so I'll kindly share.
    • Three bedrooms, two bathrooms
    • Townhouse or single family
    • under 1000/month
    • central location--or close to where I will be working if I'm not floating.
That's not to picky, right? So here is the wishing part.
    • hard surface floors (wood, tile etc)
    • washer and dryer included
    • updated kitchen
    • two car garage
    • lease starting in the middle of the month
It feels good to have it listed out.  We are praying to find this perfect place in May and sign papers, pay deposit, etc.  Meanwhile, I'm stalking craig's list and any other long term rental site I can find.  Will you pray with me? Please share this with friends and pray in agreement with my family that we will find the housing option the Lord has chosen for us.  I'll let you know how it turns out!
    Blessings--

I never thought I'd be writing this...

Against the will of my husband, I have begun a blog.  We'll see how long this lasts.  ;)  My desire is to document our move from the mid-west to the east coast.  I've spent roughly 20 years in Kansas and this is a bittersweet time.  I am thrilled for the future of our family, yet I can't help but think upon the past.  I have many friends and places I will miss.  The next few months will fly by.  I will be busy, exhausted, and stressed.  I pray the beach is worth it!
